Benjamin Paul Jones, Jr., a man whose talents and passions touched many, passed away on April 22, 2026, in La Belle, Missouri. Born on February 14, 1962, in Tuscon, Arizona, to Benjamin SR. and Kathryn (Winfield) Jones. Benjamin lived a life rich in creativity, service, and the love of the outdoors.
Benjamin’s journey was marked by dedication both to his country and his artistic pursuits. He honorably served as an E6 in the United States Army National Guard, where his commitment mirrored the steadfastness he exhibited throughout his life. Beyond his military service, Benjamin's spirit found expression in music and art. An accomplished tuba player, he shared his musical gifts with the Young Sounds of Arizona Symphony as well as the 108th Army National Guard Band, performances that echoed his love for harmony and community.
A passionate outdoorsman, Benjamin found solace and joy in fishing and immersing himself in nature’s tranquility. His keen eye for the beauty of the natural world inspired his oil paintings of landscape scenes, works that garnered admiration throughout Kirksville. His paintings are treasured fixtures in various locations around town, including the dialysis center where he received treatment, offering comfort and inspiration to patients and visitors alike.
Benjamin is survived by his devoted parents, Benjamin Sr. and Sheila Jones; his loving sisters, Kathy Gamble, Teresa Longoria, Melissa Coldren, and Patience Rusi-Jones; and his brother, Jason Jones. He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, whose memories he held dear.
As the community remembers Benjamin Paul Jones, Jr., it honors a man whose life was characterized by generosity of spirit, artistic brilliance, and an unwavering dedication to family and country. His legacy endures in the music he played, the landscapes he painted, and the hearts he touched.
