Beverly Jean “Jeannie” (Holland) Anderson of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully the early morning of Friday, September 29, 2023.
The daughter of Francis and Gladys Holland, Jeannie was born June 18, 1943, in Springfield, MO, and was raised in Jefferson City, MO. In June 1965, she was united in marriage to Gene Anderson, four children were born of this marriage.
Jeannie is survived by daughters Stephanie Sullivan (Mark Poolman), Bethany Gibson (Don), Cindy Parrish (Timmy) and son Bill Anderson (Becci); sisters Diana Schwab and Judy Ford (Dan); Grandchildren, Cody Sullivan (Holli), Wyatt Sullivan (Melanie), Derrick Conover, Tawnya Ace (Shawn Kirby), Tony Gibson (Gabby Rees), Tyler Anderson (April Vansickle), Andrew Parrish (Bridget Walls), Ethan Parrish (Nicole Micetich), Rohn Anderson, and Kai Anderson; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Jerry Schwab, and son-in-law Brian Sullivan.
Jeannie graduated from Concordia Teachers College and enjoyed her many years in the classroom and the numerous children she had in class. She taught at Knox County schools for 31 years before retiring in May 2012. Jeannie also played the organ at Faith Lutheran Church from 1976 until 2020. Additionally she held several other part time jobs through the years but cake baking and decorating was a special talent loved by many. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids and was there to support then whenever she could.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 5, at 4:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church in Kirksville, MO. The family will be wearing St. Louis Cardinals apparel to show their love for Jeannie and her Cardinals. Attendees can feel free to do the same.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Faith Lutheran School or to Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
