Clarice Jean Vermillion

Clarice Jean Vermillion, 84, passed away on January 7th, 2026 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, surrounded by loved ones.

Clarice was born on March 4th, 1941, in San Mateo, California, she later moved to Kirksville from Chillicothe, Missouri where she began living a life of independence. Clarice greatly enjoyed living on her own and took pride in having her own apartment.

There was no bigger fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Lakers than Clarice. She collected any memorabilia she could find and loved showing it to everyone who knew her. Clarice worked at Chariton Valley Association for nearly 20 years as a custodian until her retirement. She also had a love for flowers, spoiling/watching Amber’s daughter Adalynn grow, watching birds bathe in the water bath, and enjoyed helping landscape various places by planting new flowers.

Clarice will be dearly missed by her friends Amber, Adalynn, Patty, Rena, Billy, Howie, Terry, Danyelle, and many other whose lives she touched. Clarice will also be missed by Ann, Cyndi, Bonnie, Cindy, and the rest of her Chariton Valley family.
