Dean Trimble, 88, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He had been in declining health for several months.
Dean H. Trimble was born in Promise City, Iowa, on December 28, 1931, the son of Cloyd and Ethel (Hellyer) Trimble, who preceded him in death. Dean was raised in the Powersville, Missouri, area and graduated from Powersville High School in 1949. He married Polly Darlene Robinson on August 12, 1951, and she survives. Dean and Polly began married life in the Quad Cities area where Dean worked in manufacturing for an implement company. They lived there only briefly before returning to Putnam County to farm around Powersville. Dean and Polly worked for William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, for 12-15 years before retiring in 1999 and moving to Unionville.
Dean was an avid hunter of nearly any kind of game. He made several trips to Colorado and Wyoming hunting elk and prairie dogs. He also like to hunt deer and was an active coyote hunter. When he wasn’t hunting Dean enjoyed watching the Outdoor channel on television. He was a 50-year member of the Somerset Lodge in Powersville, serving as Past Master. He was also in the York Rite.
In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by three sons and two daughters: Jim (MaShelle) Trimble of Unionville, Randy Trimble of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Roger (Sherry) Trimble of Oak Grove, Missouri, Debra (David) Pipes of Unionville, and Gayla (Tyson) Milligan of Hamilton, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Hofstetter; a nephew, Ronnie Hofstetter; and a great-granddaughter, Gwynna Trimble.
Dean was cremated according to his wishes. Graveside services for Dean Trimble will take place at the Powersville Cemetery at 1:30 on Saturday, November 14. Memorials are suggested to the Powersville Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27 th , Unionville, Missouri.
