Dennis Partin, 61, passed away early Friday morning, April 19, 2024, at home with his family by his side.
The son of Gene and Wilma Partin he was born on June 3, 1962, in Kirksville, Missouri. He grew up in Queen City and attended school there. He graduated from Schuyler R-I with the class of 1980.
Dennis was united in marriage to Laura Robinson January l, 1989, and to this union two children were born, Kindell and Dee.
He worked at N.E. State University (now Truman) in Kirksville for a time, and in 1995 he started working as a custodian at Schuyler R-I. Dennis got his CDL license and for the last twelve years he has been a Bus Driver at Schuyler.
He is survived by his wife Laura, of the home, son Kindell Partin and wife Jennifer of Tuscon, Arizona, daughter Dee Luckett and friend Pierce Howard of Centerville, Virginia, sisters Cathy Kerby and husband Ron of Kirksville, Mo., Terri Yearns and husband Leroy of Queen City, Mo., Beth Partin of Mesquite, Nevada, twin sister Denise McMillian and husband Ron of Lexington, Oklahoma', and sister-in-law Ellen Partin of Kirksville, Mo. Also surviving are four grandchildren Brooke Blanchard, Katelyn Blanchard, Sierra Blanchard, and Alyssa Brooks as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronnie, a niece Josie Farley, and a granddaughter Zerenity Luckett.
He was a coach for the Special Olympics at Schuyler R-I where he coached basketball and track. He was an avid sports fan. Always there watching the kids play. His "bus kids" were very special to him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards with his friends, swimming Aerobics, breakfast on Wednesday morning at Pancake City with friends, and Tuesday and Thursday coffee with friends, in Queen City and he really enjoyed his children. Dennis loved to horseback ride and driving a team of horses.
Dennis was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church, 66 Wranglers, Queen City Fire Department, 4-H Leader, and a member of Junior Livestock.
Funeral service will be Monday (April 22, 2024) at noon in the Schuyler R-I High School Gym with Pastor Sam Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m to noon on Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund.
