Donald Eugene Wheeler passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Schuyler Co Nursing Home at the age of 91 years.
The son of Boyd and Beulah (Dierling) Wheeler, he was born April 18, 1934. He attended Queen City High School graduating with the class of 1951.
On June 4,1955 he married Anna Lou Snowbarger. They moved to Joliet, Illinois in November of 1955 and Don joined the military in 1956 and was active duty until 1962. They resided in different locations including Fort Polk, Louisiana. After his discharge from the Army, Don and Anna Lou resided in Joliet, IL where he was employed with Caterpillar for 11 years.
After returning to Queen City, MO, Don was employed with Kewanee Machinery, Queen City Water District, and Hightower Wholesale. After retirement from Hightower Wholesale, Don enjoyed traveling, visiting family and raising a huge garden every summer.
Don is survived by two sons, Franklin Wheeler and Charles(Tammy) Wheeler, and one daughter, Nancy(Terry) Wood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Wes(Rachael) Wheeler, Brad(Camrion) Wheeler, Christy(Sheldon)Scadden, Kim Wood, Rachel Fowler (David Wohler), Jordon(Shea) Wheeler, and Nathanial(Kendall) Wheeler as well as 13 great grandchildren, one brother, Richard (Pat) Wheeler, several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Anna Lou in July 2023, his parents, Boyd and Beulah Wheeler, one sister, Lola Snider, one brother, Paul Wheeler and a daughter in law, Barbara Wheeler.
Don was a long-time member of the Queen City Christian Church and served as both and Elder and Deacon.
