Glenda Mae Magruder, 64 of Gibbs, MO passed away Friday (September 6th, 2024) at Kirksville Manor Care in Kirksville, MO.

Glenda was born October 25th, 1959 in Kirksville, MO. On August 4th, 1978 in Mark, IA, she was united in marriage to Marvin Magruder.

Glenda was survived by her husband; her mother, Shirley Johnson; daughters, Julie Shaw and husband Anthony and Jamie Keller and husband Burton; grandchildren, Anthony Shaw II, Lucas Keller, Andrea Shaw, Jacob Keller, and Helen Smith; great-grandchild, Olivia Luster; brothers, Orie Johnson, James Johnson, and Gary Johnson; sisters, Paula Dearborn, Angela Johnson, and Kayla Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father Glen Johnson, one brother, Glen “Buster” Johnson and sister, Lisa Walker.

Glenda was born in Kirksville before moving to Iowa. She graduated from Davis County high school in 1978. She then went to LPN school where she graduated from the Kirksville Votech program in 1991. 

Glenda loved her grandkids and loved going to all their events. Her grandkids were her life.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 9th, 2024 1:00 p.m. at Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Kirksville with Raymond Magruder officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Lucas Keller, Anthony Shaw I, David Walker, Dakota Walker, Anthony Shaw II, and Burton Keller with honorary pallbearers, Andrea Shaw and Jacob Keller. Burial will follow at Gibbs Union Cemetery in Gibbs, MO. The visitation will be the night before on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
