Henry Keith Humphrey age 89, of Kirksville, MO passed away Saturday (January 12, 2019) at his home.
The son of Clarence Carl and Clara Elizabeth (Morgan) Humphrey, Keith was born on October 2, 1929 near Willmathsville, MO. On September 1, 1946 in Ottumwa, IA he was united in marriage to Thelma Fern Ryan who preceded him in death on October 29, 2015.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Stanley, Roy and Eugene; one sister in infancy Arvilla; his son, Carl Dean and his son-in-law, Ronald Bulechek.
Keith is survived by his three sons, Robert Lee Humphrey of Fort Madison, IA, Dennis Keith Humphrey of Downing, MO and Jerry Dee Humphrey and wife, Crystal of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Virginia Sue Bulechek of Queen City, MO and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Keith traveled with his parents and brothers to the north western United States during the depression. They moved back to Missouri where he went to school at the Brushy School. Keith went to work at Morrels in Ottumwa, IA as a teenager. After his marriage he was a farmer, carpenter and served as Business Agent of the Carpenter’s Union # 2057. He served as the Secretary Treasurer of the State Council of Carpenters of Missouri.
Keith was a member of the Masonic Lodge #380 A.F.&A.M, York Rite Bodies and Scottish Rite. He was a member of the El Kadir Shrine Club and served as President. He was also a member of the Hillbillies and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge of Kirksville.
He was a great father, grandfather and family man.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser, officiating. Burial will be in the Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville, MO.
Pallbearers will be Brian Humphrey, Chad Humphrey, Robbie Humphrey, Jr, Dusty Humphrey, Michael Humphrey, Jerry Dee Humphrey, Jr and Ronnie Bulechek, Jr.
Visitation with the family will be from l:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Willmathsville Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
