James Clifford Ebert

James Clifford Ebert, 83 of Kirksville passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The son of Clifford and Irene (Carmon) Ebert, he was born February 2, 1940 in Brashear, Missouri. On August 22, 2009 in Atlanta, Missouri he married Martha L. Bass. He attended school in LaPlata, Missouri where he graduated High School. After High School he entered the United States Air Force where he served for 22 years until his discharge. He was a fighter Piolet while serving in the Air Force. He owned a trucking company for 20, where he drove a truck until he retired.

He was a member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. Post 2508. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, camping and riding horses.

James is survived by his wife, Martha; two children, James A. Ebert and Robert Ebert; two stepchildren, Larry L. Glaspie of Columbia, MO and Twila L. Halley of Atlanta, MO; two step grandchildren, Marty & Aletha Halley and Samantha Halley; one great step grandchildren, Colby Mavrick Halley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steve Ebert.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
