Jason Laverne Lloyd, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend, passed away on June 30, 2026, in Quincy, Illinois.
Born on July 11, 1969, in Davenport, Iowa, Jason's journey began in the heartland, where his love for family and his gentle spirit first took root. Nearly 57 years later, those roots had grown into a life that touched and enriched the lives of so many.
Those who knew Jason remember a man whose presence was quietly profound. He listened deeply, loved wholeheartedly, and never hesitated to offer a helping hand or an encouraging word. His laughter was warm, genuine, and contagious, filling homes and hearts with joy. To be in Jason's company was to experience kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.
Jason was deeply devoted to his family. He was the cherished son of Melvin and Judy Lloyd, whose love and steadfast support remained a constant throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Lloyd; his grandparents, Ivan and Crystal Lloyd; and an unborn infant. Their lives and memories helped shape the man Jason became, instilling in him the values of faith, family, and perseverance.
Jason shared a beautiful partnership with his wife, Dana Lloyd. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, compassion, and unwavering support. He was also grateful for the love of his in-laws, Richard and Jean Chellos, who welcomed him as one of their own and became an important part of his extended family.
Being a father was one of Jason's greatest joys. His children, Sara, Devin, and Kayden, along with the many foster children who became part of his family over the years, were the pride of his life. He celebrated each of their unique personalities, encouraged them through every season of life, and loved them without condition. They will forever carry with them his humor, wisdom, courage, and unconditional love.
Above all, Jason loved Jesus Christ and sought to live his life in a way that reflected his faith. He was a God-fearing man whose relationship with the Lord was the foundation of his life. His faith gave him strength through life's challenges, guided the way he loved others, and remained one of his greatest sources of peace and hope.
Music was one of Jason's greatest passions. He found joy behind both the drum set and the guitar, and he loved spending time making music whenever he could. Over the years, he built an impressive collection of guitars, each one reflecting his appreciation for music and craftsmanship. He also had a lifelong love of motorcycles and was looking forward to owning one of his own and the adventures that would come with it.
Jason loved his sisters, Lisa Blake, Lora Smith, and Linda Erb. Through every season of life, they remained a source of love, strength, and cherished memories. His circle of family extended well beyond blood, embracing dear friends, including Serenity Benjamin, who experienced firsthand his loyalty, sincerity, and generous heart.
Throughout his life, Jason faced profound loss, including the passing of his unborn child, his father, and his grandparents. These experiences deepened both his resilience and his compassion, allowing him to offer comfort and understanding to others facing difficult times.
Jason's love extended beyond people to the animals that shared his home. He leaves behind five beloved cats, including his faithful companion and best friend, Fred, whose constant presence brought him comfort and companionship.
Those who gather to remember Jason will undoubtedly share stories of his quiet strength, thoughtful generosity, unwavering faith, love of music, and devotion to those around him. Memories of family gatherings, shared adventures, motorcycles, music, laughter, and countless acts of kindness form a beautiful quilt of remembrance, stitched together with gratitude, joy, and love.
