Judy Smith, 73, of Lucerne, MO, passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO, on Sunday, January 27, 2019. She had been a resident there for about a year.

She was reared in Baxter, IA, and graduated from Baxter High School. She married Joseph Brown and three children were born to this union: James, Janet, and Jill. Judy resided in Melbourne, IA, during her married life and was a homemaker and mother to her children. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was also a prolific quilter. She and Max enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the wildlife from their cabin. Judy had an outgoing and lively personality and she never met a stranger. Her grandchildren are Michael Brown, Daniel Brown, T. J. Ridge, Kathreyn Rouw, Alexandrea Weers, and Rebekkah Weers. Judy’s great grandchildren are Kadin Ryals, Gentry Rouw, and Ember Clark. Judy is also survived by her brother, Charles (Linda) Gauch of Newton, IA.
