Larry Joe Glaspie, a devoted family man and long-serving employee A.T. Still University, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in Milan, Missouri. Born on July 10, 1957, in Kirksville, MO, Larry dedicated much of his life to his work and the people he loved, leaving behind a legacy of steadfast commitment and warmth.
Larry's career spanned an impressive 45 years as a cleaner at Still University, where he was known not only for his diligent work ethic but also for his kindness and reliability. His dedication to his role was a testament to his disciplined nature and pride in contributing to the community around him.
Outside of work, Larry found great joy in fishing and hunting deer, pursuits that allowed him to connect deeply with the natural world he cherished. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, nurturing close relationships that enriched his life and theirs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Glaspie; his loving daughter, Victoria Glaspie; his two sons and two daughters; and his brothers Burl and Merle Glaspie. Larry also leaves behind his sisters Dollie (Richard) Wiese, Joyce (Kelvin) Heady, and Rosemary Taylor, as well as four nephews and seven nieces who will remember him fondly.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Steven Glaspie and James Glaspie, who are remembered with love and respect by all who knew them.
A funeral service to honor the life of Larry Joe Glaspie will be held on April 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, located at 2100 E Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, MO 63501. This service offers an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew Larry to come together in remembrance of his life and legacy.
Larry’s enduring spirit, his dedication to his family and work, and his gentle love of nature will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
