Laura S. Easley, born December 5, 1941, in Kirksville, Missouri, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Laura was raised in Kirksville by her parents, Bob and Esther Scobee, graduating from Kirksville High School in 1959. After working for Florsheim Shoe, and in the home, she was employed with Larry Gardner/Eagle Accounting from 1991 until her retirement in 2020.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Perry Easley, and her sister Roberta Gleason.
Laura is survived by her two sons, Mark (Kim) Easley of Kansas City and Matthew (Kimberly) Easley of Troy MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allison (Nathan) Volkmann of Lees’s Summit, MO, Aaron (Emily) Easley of Albany, MO, Hannah Easley of Troy, MO and Madeline Easley of Troy, MO. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Eleanor Volkmann, Luke Volkmann, and Everett Easley along with several nieces and nephews. Laura was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always looked forward to spending time with them.
Laura was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder of Session, and Presbyterian Women’s group. Her hobbies included sewing, collecting dishes, spending time with lifelong friends, and watching reruns of her favorite TV series, “Gunsmoke.”
Visitation will be held on February 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Playle Rimer Millard Family Funeral Chapel located at 2100 E. Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, MO 63501. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Kirksville.
