Maude Elizabeth Mills

Libby- Maude Elizabeth (Beall) Mills 90, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (June 14, 2024) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.


The daughter of Joshua and Bonnie (Round) Beall. She was born December 27, 1933, in LaPlata, Missouri. On August 10th, 1949, she was united in marriage to Franklin Virgil Mills, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1971. In 1964 she was united in marriage to Boyd Christy who preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Jenny Stewart, Fern Maize, Jean Stewart, Inez Thomas, and two sisters in infancy.


Libby is survived by her 6 children, Virgil Mills and wife Gina of Bloomington, Illinois, Robert Mills and wife Liz of Brashear, Missouri, David Mills of Kirksville and partner Regana Leckbee of Edina, Missouri, Libby Mills and partner David Biddle of Columbia, Missouri, George Mills and Iris of Kirksville, Missouri and Eva Knight of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. 15 Grandchildren, Tim and Dawn Mills of Kirksville, Missouri, Kimberly Smith and Christopher Smith of Orlando, Florida, Tracy and Cliff Lewis of Kirksville, Missouri, Trevor and Megan Mills of St. Louis, Missouri, Amanda and Andy Anders of Kirksville, Missouri, W.D. and Mary VanDyke of Booneville, Missouri, Jerry and Stephanie Mills of Kirksville, Missouri, Leslie and Nolan Smith of
Columbia, Missouri, Carie Goodhart and Chris Hammer of LaPlata, Missouri, Sharie and Tim Powell of LaPlata, Missouri, Russell and Cassie Goodhart of LaPlata, Missouri, Robin and Racheal Mills of Douglasville, Georgia, Christyna Mills of Kirksville, Missouri, Charish and Adam Bishop of Fairfax, Virginia, Brittany Hernandez and Christopher Burch of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. 42 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.


She received her education  in Kirksville School District. She was employed in Kirksville at Lamberts Glove Factory, McGraw-Edison Factory, Salvation Army Store, and she had licensed childcare in her home for several local families starting in 1986. She was very active in the Salvation Army Church, New Beginnings Family Worship Center, Nazarene Church and Body of Christ Church, and was one of God’s greatest advocates. She was truly an amazing woman of God, and she loved like Jesus. She treated everyone with love and respect and taught each of us through her devotion and example. She enjoyed time with her large family, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her hobbies were needle point, bird watching, and she loved to walk around Kirksville. She will be remembered by family for the wonderful Sunday dinners with homemade soup and homemade bread.


A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri with Virgil Jones officating.


Family gathering will be held at the home of George and Iris Mills after the service.

I give my life for any one of my kids, so they can live a long and happy life I pray. Amen

The children you gave me has given me lots of joy and happiness- Lord and I thank you for all of my babies, so many, my Quiver is running over and still going. Thank you, Lord.
