Robert Lee Christman

Oct 5, 1943 — Jun 20, 2026

Robert Lee Christman was born on October 5, 1943, in Kirksville, Missouri to Cecil Hal Christman and Edith Irene (Brewer) Christman. On October 1, 1965, he married the love of his life, Carol Smoyer. To this union three children were born.

Robert worked for Donaldson's in the quality control department, until they down. After the closing of Donaldson's, he drove a school bus for several years. He then went to work at Ortech for several years, where he was known to many as "Fred." After Ortech he went to work at MedDepot Pharmacy, where he worked until retirement in 2008. He volunteered at The Crossing in safety and security and found his niche as one of the greeters, to welcome everyone into their church. He took it upon himself to personally get to know everyone's name who walked through the doors. He wanted everyone to feel welcomed coming into church. He would also watch the parking lot during church services to make sure everyone inside was safe.

Some of Robert's hobbies included assembling model cars, trucks, motorcycles, semis, airplanes, helicopters, ect. and would paint the tiny details of the piolets by hand. He also did powerlifting up until the mid 80's, when he had his first back surgery. He also was an avid Chiefs fan through all of the many years that were not fun to be a Chiefs fan but really enjoyed being a fan these past few years. GO CHIEFS!

Roberts greatest joy came from his family. Being an only child himself. When he married Carol and she was one of five, he always enjoyed spending time with his brother and sister in laws. He always enjoyed spending time with his children, their spouses, grandchildren and his great granddaughter, just this year. The laughter, jokes, teasing, and endless stories will not be the same without him here.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Angie (John) Buck, son Todd (May) Christman, as well as his son Kendall (Barb) Christman. HIs grandchildren Bailey Christman, Tanner (Brooklynn) Buck, Kaelinn Christman and Princess and Vic Estoy, as well as great granddaughter, Clara Jean Buck. He is also survived by his adopted son and daughter Chris and Lori Drennan.

The family of Robert has requested that there be no flowers and in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Crossing Church Camp.
