Tony Wayne Robertson

October 7, 1947 — June 25, 2024

Tony Wayne Robertson, 76, passed away June 25, 2024 at his home in Kirksville, MO.

Born in Poteau, OK to Bill Robertson and Louise Farrar Robertson on October 7, 1947, he grew up in Garden Grove, CA spending summers with his grandparents in Oklahoma.  Tony graduated from Garden Grove High and attended Culver Stockton college to play basketball for his high school coach along with many of his high school teammates who were also recruited to Culver.  He received his B. S. degree from Culver Stockton in 1969 and accepted a teaching/coaching position at Blakesburg High School, Blakesburg, IA where he met his wife, Mary Kay (Shoush) Robertson.  They were married December 1970 in Atlanta MO. He received his Masters degree from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State) in August 1971.


For the last forty years Tony enjoyed traveling the country searching for treasures for his antique business that included booths at Dee's Good Ol Days and The Weathervane. He also was employed as a bus driver for Weber Bus Company for several years.


Tony is survived by his wife, his sister, Gail Robertson Cope (Richard), In-laws Holly Deam (Charles), Bill Shoush (Debbie), Judy Shoush (Gayle), Ron Shoush (Kathy), Betty Green (Eric), Cindy Woods (Vernon) and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clif Lorenzen, his father-in- law and mother-in-law Ronald and Galena Shoush and a nephew, Brad Brookhart.


Tony has been cremated and a Remembrance Gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date.
