Viola Fae Breuer, a cherished soul whose love and kindness touched everyone she met, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Kirksville, Missouri. Born on May 13, 1937, in Novinger, Missouri.
From humble beginnings, Viola’s journey began as a delivery driver for her family’s business, Vic Cleaners. Her dedication and warmth naturally led her into the fields of education and service where she worked as a library aide and a member of cafeteria staff, nurturing young minds until her retirement. Those who knew Viola described her as very dependable and lovable, always showing up for the people around her and filling in the gaps to meet loved ones’ needs without hesitation.
Viola’s life was deeply rooted in faith and community. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Kirksville, where her spiritual devotion was a cornerstone of her existence. On December 30, 1972, she married her beloved late husband, David Breuer. Their partnership spanned 46 years of shared love and hard work, including raising cattle and farming until David’s passing in 2019.
Her hands were never idle outside of work. Viola had a love for cooking and baking, delighting family and friends by always bringing treats to family meals. Gardening was another passion; she tended her vegetable garden and flowers with great care, cultivating beauty and nourishment with equal devotion. A lover of reading and God’s teachings, Viola embraced lifelong learning and spiritual growth. She became a Sunday school teacher and Bible school director in her younger years.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Anna (Burton) Fleshman, her late husband, David Breuer, with whom she shared nearly five decades of marriage, as well as her brother Dennis Fleshman Jr., her twin sister Vesta Fleshman, and sister Betty Tyson.
She leaves behind her son Tom Breuer and his wife Kristen; her treasured grandchildren Aubriana and Isaiah Meinen, Anna Laymon and her husband Mason, Keller and Aspen Breuer and great granddaughter Luna Seward.
Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to honor Viola’s memory during a visitation on May 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both held at the Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 2100 E Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, Missouri. Interment will follow in Parkview Memorial Gardens at 2100 E Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, Missouri.
Viola Fae Breuer’s life was a gentle yet powerful hymn of love, faith, and dedication, a beautiful story woven through years of steadfast devotion and endless giving. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives she so profoundly touched.
