Ozark

William "Dennis" Sidwell, a cherished member of the community and beloved family man, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Ozark, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 3, 1947, Dennis led a life rich in love, dedication, and passion, embraced by the values instilled in him from his youth on a cattle farm.

As the oldest son in his family, Dennis grew up under the wide-open skies of Missouri, learning the true essence of hard work and commitment from a young age. By the time he was eight, he was already behind the wheel of a tractor, setting the foundation for a life deeply intertwined with ranching and the land he adored. His rodeo adventures with his father and talent for calf roping reflected not just his skills but also his spirit, one that was tight-knit with family and the cowboy lifestyle he cherished.

Dennis's career was as varied as it was distinguished. At the young age of 19, he served as a Ranch Manager at Spring Creek Ranch in Greencastle, Missouri, where he expertly managed a herd of 3,000 cattle. His varied experiences included working with the Missouri Pacific Railroad and inspiring countless students as a High School Mathematics teacher at Putnam County Schools. He later became a managing partner at Hardin, Cummins, Moss, and Miller, leaving a lasting mark in the world of accounting.

A graduate of Queen City High School in 1965 and Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Dennis's academic achievements were matched only by his devotion to service. He was a proud member of several organizations, including the Kirksville Kiwanis Club, Kirksville Saddle Club, El Kadir Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge of Glenwood Missouri, and The Missouri Society of CPA's, alongside his lifelong passion for shooting sports as a member of the local Gun Club.

On May 19, 1965, Dennis married his beloved wife, Jean Ann (Webster) Sidwell, starting a partnership that spanned 58 beautiful years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Dennis leaves behind his daughters, Sheila (Aaron) Drebes and Stephanie (Chris) Frandsen, who treasured his wisdom and guidance. He was a proud grandfather to Christian, Emmalee, Jordan, and Dylan, and relished his role as a great-grandfather to Carson Frandsen.

Dennis is survived by his brothers, David and Curtis Sidwell, brother-in-law Larry (Pat) Webster, and his aunt, Joan Moore. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wealth of friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

He reunites now with his devoted wife, Jean Ann, and his parents, William and Eloise (Moore) Sidwell, as well as his beloved uncle, Jerry Moore, and aunt, Marylu Schmid.

Dennis Sidwell's legacy will be honored at Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Kirksville, Missouri. Visitation will be held on December 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a Masonic service will take place during the visitation on December 29 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service on December 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
