Wilma Ross

Wilma Ross, 76, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at the Hedrick Medical Center on May 5, 2021.  Wilma Ross was born in Centerville, Iowa, on October 5, 1944, the daughter of Jess and Nellie (Morgan) Montgomery.  Wilma’s parents always teased her for stealing a year of age from her mother because she was born one day after her mother’s birthday.  Wilma attended the Halley Grade School, the Livonia High School where she played basketball, then graduated from the Unionville High School after the county school consolidation. Wilma enjoyed all kinds of crafts including painting, sewing, crocheting afghans, and ceramics.  She enjoyed all sports and the occasional hunting of squirrels with Danny Cornelison.  Wilma loved to attend the Omaha Baptist Church when she returned home on occasion.

Wilma is survived by three of her children, Teresa Robins of Columbia, MO; Brian Brown and wife Ragena of Mystic, IA; and Anita Kraviec and husband Jaye of Harpster, OH.  Wilma’s surviving grandchildren are Matthew, Faith, Chris, Trevor, Aaron, Jeff, Thomas, Kevin, Gerald, Jayce, Kendall, and Cara.  She is also survived by several great grandchildren; sisters Carol Hammond of Norwalk, IA and Geneva Cornelison and husband Danny of Unionville, MO.

Wilma was preceded in death by a daughter, Avonna Widner and a son, Kelley Brown. She was also preceded by a twin sister Wanda Steele and grandchildren Tristen and Taren.

Funeral services for Wilma will take place at Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, Unionville, Missouri, at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 7, 2021, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Thompson Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
